Connecting Health, Education, Research and Innovation
The North West Health and Wellbeing Neighbourhood is evolving into a nationally distinctive health precinct that integrates healthcare, education, research, innovation and industry collaboration within a connected university environment.
Located at the gateway to the Bruce campus, Site 1B represents the next major stage in the evolution of the North West Health and Wellbeing Neighbourhood. The 14.4-hectare site will build on the foundations established through the º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ Hospital, Health Hub, student-led allied health clinics and the future Care Community and Retirement Living development.
Site 1B will contribute to a vibrant, integrated health and wellbeing neighbourhood that supports people to live well, recover well and age well. The development is intended to bring together health and wellbeing providers, researchers, educators, students, innovators and industry partners within a collaborative ecosystem focused on improving community outcomes.
The University’s vision is to create a connected community health hub where education, research and service delivery are integrated to support innovation in community health and wellbeing. The precinct will strengthen opportunities for collaboration between industry, government and the University, while supporting workforce development, applied learning and real-world research translation.
A connected health and wellbeing ecosystem
Site 1B will support a broad range of community-focused health and wellbeing outcomes through:
- prevention-focused and community-facing services
- integrated health and rehabilitation infrastructure
- co-located health, wellbeing and allied health providers
- education and workforce development opportunities
- research, testing and translation of emerging models of care
- digital health innovation and technology-enabled care
- collaboration between university, industry and government partners
- opportunities for university-related uses to sit alongside health specialists to strengthen collaboration across education, research and service delivery
The development aims to create opportunities for organisations to co-locate, collaborate and innovate within a university-led health environment that is embedded within the wider campus community.
As the North West Health and Wellbeing Neighbourhood evolves, Site 1B will contribute to the creation of a dynamic and future-focused health and wellbeing ecosystem that supports improved outcomes for students, researchers, partners and the wider community.
