UnCover Documentary: Care and compassion at the heart of nursing

For Josphine Lokai, graduating with a Bachelor of Nursing is a significant milestone and a journey sparked by the tragic loss of her eldest son almost a decade ago in the Republic of Kenya.

Josphine moved to Australia in 2017, setting up a new life in Canberra where she began her studies at CIT, worked in aged care and spent two years as an enrolled nurse at the º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ Hospital. She applied to study a Bachelor of Nursing at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ and  became a full-time undergraduate student in 2020 through the COVID-19 pandemic.

She describes nursing as her passion, and a profession which is all about care and respect, where you “look at the person, not the disease.”

This is her story.
